Regnar & Beverly Paulsen

Regnar & Beverly Paulsen

College sweethearts from Stanford, Regnar and Beverly Paulsen were longtime residents and spent much of their lives farming in and around the Woodland area. They loved the land, took care of it, and made sure their hard work provided for the needs of their family. But the Paulsens also had the vision to encourage future generations of farmers to carry on the agricultural traditions of their community. Although the Paulsens passed away in 1994, their children are continuing their parents’ philanthropic wishes-to the benefit of all. Regnar and Beverly left behind a private family foundation to support scholarships for students who wanted to pursue a career in agriculture. Lee Ann Hanna and Carol Thomsen, the Paulsens’ daughters, tried for time to manage that foundation. They were not able to devote the attention they needed to the project, and they decided to take the Paulsen Family Fund to the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
