David Breaux Memorial Scholarship
David Breaux was a beloved member of the Davis, California community, known for his conversations with others about the meaning of compassion. David’s life was cut short on April 27, 2023. The founding donors, retired professors of philosophy, are committed to advancing social justice in tangible ways, including educational equity. This scholarship was established to honor David’s brilliance, curiosity, and commitment to purposeful, compassionate living.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a high school senior or an undergraduate college student in their first year of study planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university
- Must have attended or currently attending a school in Yolo County
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application
The scholarship is renewable up to one (1) year. You must reapply to be considered for a renewal award.
The scholarship can be used for tuition, fees and educational expenses such as books and school supplies.
