Sacramento Police Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity was established to provide financial support to high school seniors enrolled in a Criminal Justice and Public Service Magnet Academy who plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university or vocational/trade. The Criminal Justice and Public Service Magnet Academy is a Four-year high school program that increases graduation and college entry rates and helps to develop our local workforce. The academies incorporate many features of the recent high school reform movement that includes creating a close family-like atmosphere, integrating academic and career technical education, and establishing viable business partnerships.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a high school senior enrolled in a Criminal Justice and Public Service Magnet Academy program.
  • Plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university or vocational/trade school in the upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have performed a minimum of 50 hours of community service.

Preferred Eligibility Requirements

  • Intend to enroll full-time 12 units or more or the equivalent in the upcoming academic year.

Application Requirements

  • Submit the General Application before applying to the Police Foundation Scholarship.
  • Essay: write an essay addressing your educational/career goals & how the Magnet Academy impacted your decisions & growth.
  • Reference letter: provide a letter of reference from a teacher, employer, community organization or an individual who you are not related to. The reference letter must identify the individuals name, title, and relationship to you.

Scholarship Award

  • Award payment is sent to the college/university in one (1) payment and divided evenly between the academic term.
  • The scholarship can be used for cost of attendance (includes tuition, fees, books, educational expenses, supplies, and housing).
