Spaans Family Scholarship

The Spaans Family has been in the baking business for over 120 years. Since 1958, the bakery has been located in Old Town Galt. The Spaans family values the community of Galt for all of the support throughout the years. Part of the corporate responsibility of our company is to give back, when able, to the community that has given so much to us.

The Spaans Family Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to FFA students from Galt High School and Liberty Ranch High school who are pursuing higher education. We value the educational opportunities and core values that our local FFA programs provide to the youth of our community. It is our hope that we can recognize some exceptional students that have contributed, through their efforts, to the continued success of the program. These Scholarships are intended to help educate our youth as they pursue their future goals.

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a high school senior at Galt High School or Liberty Ranch High school
• Have participated in FFA at least two years and be a member at the time of application
• Plan to attend a Two or Four-year college/university or Vocational/Trade School in the upcoming academic year
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Be enrolled full time in at least 12 academic units or equivalent per quarter/semester in the fall
• Students receiving a full (four year) academic scholarship are not eligible

Scholarship award may be used for tuition and fees, books and supplies

Award Distribution
Scholarship recipients will receive a certificate and award letter at the FFA awards banquet. The scholarship will be payable to the school upon receiving proof of full time enrollment.
