Our Opportunities
Below is a list of Scholarship Opportunities available for the 2025 scholarship season. To successfully complete the application process, please review all the information below._
In order to apply for any of these scholarships, you will need to sign up for an account by providing an email address and password. Once you create an account in our online scholarships system, you will be asked to complete a general application. Based upon your application answers, the system will recommend scholarship opportunities that you may be eligible to apply for.
1. TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENT: Your most recent transcript must be uploaded, and your unweighted GPA must be visible on the uploaded document.
A. Request your most recent transcript from your academic advisor/school counselor.
B. Please upload a copy of the transcript or student profile as a PDF file. No other formats accepted.
Screenshots or any other portals are not accepted. If you are a current college student, please also submit your high school transcripts for a more complete academic history.
2. REFERENCE REQUIREMENT: depending on the scholarship, either One or Two references are required (each opportunity may have specific reference requirements). Reach out to individuals who are willing to provide a recommendation letter on your behalf. (Exp. teacher, school counselor, employer, coach, member of the community). References from peers are not recommended. Enter the reference’s email address and they will receive a link to the questionnaire to complete. For teacher and counselor references: Please ask these references for a personal e-mail address, as their school e-mail addresses sometimes block reference e-mails. Please give your recommenders as much advance notice as possible when requesting a reference – it is never too early to ask for a reference!
3. DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED DOCUMENTATION: Majority of our scholarships require applicants to demonstrate financial need. A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act application is required to be considered for financial need scholarships. After applying for the FAFSA or CA Dream Act report, you will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary Report (SSR). Please attach a complete copy of your FAFSA (SSR) or CA Dream Act report where applicable in the general application.
4. REVIEW SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES: Please review the 2024/25 scholarship grid which can be found here https://www.sacregcf.org/students/. Please apply only for the opportunities you qualify for. Even if you are a prior recipient, it is still important to review eligibility guidelines as criteria may have changed.
5. APPLICATION ESSAYS: The majority of our scholarship opportunities require an essay. Please reference each opportunity for the essay topic. All work submitted in your application must be your own. Contributions from anyone or anything else- including AI sources will not be considered.
6. TWO PART APPLICATION PROCESS: our Foundation offers “Apply To” scholarships: which require you to submit the general application before you can apply to the scholarship opportunity. “Apply To” scholarships require applicants to click on the “Apply To” opportunities tab and complete the additional requirements such as an essay or reference letters. Once you submit your general application, you will be able to access the “Apply To” tab to see the “Apply To” scholarship opportunities.
